Sue Evans and sister Jane Milton were looking for a small scale timber frame project in Cornwall.  They
found a 300-year-old three-bedroom Cornish cottage set in a spacious traditional cider orchard facing Southwest.

To the side of the orchard were a 1970’s uninsulated Summer house and an ugly 1940’s pre-fab concrete and asbestos garage with a septic tank.

The location had excellent potential - demolishing the existing summer house and garage and building a new contemporary cabin would enhance the cottage accommodation for extended family visits as well as the holiday rental market.

The solution – an eco-friendly oak framed cabin, designed and raised by Carpenter Oak.
