Fabricated and installed when COVID lockdowns permitted, challenging all involved
The Fleece at Ruleholme, in Cumbria, opened its doors in November 2021 as a modern, luxury venue with a traditional heart, reflecting the hospitality there has been on this site for hundreds of years.
As part of the build and to ensure this traditional heart could be incorporated, the owners wanted an oak frame in elements of the new building. They approached a local carpenter and timber framer to do the work, Rob Fairweather, who sought a collaborative approach with Carpenter Oak due to the scale and programme of the project.
