Impressive project built in collaboration

A collaborative project with Roderick James Architects and Feilden Clegg Bradley, involving the design and build of an oak frame theatre in the round. The Auditorium features four huge 400mm x 400mm oak corner posts, joined at their heads by four trusses. The four hips meet at the truss ends which then continue up to a pyramidal roof lantern. By hanging rods from the trusses to support the balcony fronts the scale of the internal space is far more expansive than a traditionally built timber frame would allow.
