For over 1300 years, buildings have stood on the site of Hexham Abbey in Northumberland, one of the earliest seats of Christianity in England.

In 2013, after a decade of planning, work started on the restoration of the medieval monastery complex, the Priory Buildings.  This £3m project set out to reunite all of the buildings on the Abbey site for the first time since the Reformation as well as creating new spaces for exhibitions, education rooms, function rooms, offices and the Refectory Cafe.
