The internal green oak frame preserves the appearance of this barn conversion, taking it from draughty ruin to comfortable home.

Beautiful listed exterior

The journey of this barn from ruin to completed conversion began when Lynnie and Paul Jolly viewed it from the River Dart whilst out sailing. When it came up for sale, they bought it and so began its change from draughty ruin to comfortable home.

The beautiful exterior which first caught Lynnie and Paul’s attention was listed, this created numerous challenges for the Carpenter Oak team and Roderick James Architects.
